Cheetahs / Cheetahs

Rating: B+

Dnwld: Northern Exposure / The Swan

The Cheetahs, hailing from the outskirts of London, bring us their second full LP release and it dazzles even more than the previous.  Highlighted by songs like The Swan, Loon Calls and Northern Exposure, this self-titled release shows the bands growth in songwriting and within themselves. The songs are more polished down but also more well thought out. The unnerving chaos of Extended Plays (which was a combination of two previous EP’s) is gone, though the trade off for this was the loss of the extended instrumental pieces. Other tracks like Cut the Grass and Leave to Remain balance the bottom half of the album with ease.   If you find yourself head-banging to Japandroids or A Place To Bury Strangers, then except your next savoir in The Cheetahs.
